January 2013 – sirnare

As the title suggests this is what I find myself doing when there is nothing else to do, or when I see something on the net and get inspired to try it out. I learn a lot from greyscale and other cinema 4d resources on the web. Plus I found out if you sit through tutorials u can actually learn a lot 🙂 invest your time to gain more skill..thats my mantra when doing this projects. Enjoy, share, comment 🙂

Cinema 4d modelling and rendering project. I had just gotten Vray. The light precision in the vray is awesome plus it is fast for what it outputs.

done after a tutorial on interior modelling and lighting using c4d and vray.

for this piece i wanted to get a low poly carton look.the carton texture is from cgtextures.com and i think i used c4ds gi renderer on this one…post was done in photoshop i.e the lensflares.

The model is from poser and the render done in C4d with Vray.color pallete was from colorlovers.com

this was a tricky one to get the hexagonal clones…i got help from here..http://forums.cgsociety.org/archive/index.php/t-1032911.html.

C4d Mograph fun. Used a cloner with lots of cubes on a grid then added a random effector wtih a linear fallof. the renders were then composited in photoshop.

This past december the onetouchers embarked on a crazy adventure that took us from Nairobi, Moshi, Tanga, Shimoni, Diani and back to Nairobi again. all in 6 days. Despite the pitfalls, like car troubles, bribe hungry policemen, change of already set plans and oh the sleeping bag; note to self get a sleeping mat or two next time you go camping…all this was coupled with mad fun, spontaneous tutorials, star-gazing, long exposures and lots of swimming not with the camera of course. One highlight of the trip was the snorkeling at Kisite marine park which was awe-inspiring, the world down there is magical. Its like one big fish tank, only that there is a variety of fish other than a goldfish.and if you are lucky you might come across a dolphin or two.

Enough with the trip, here are the photos…I did a lot of HDR as i am learning more and more about it.Plus i had access to a 100mm macro (explains shots of insects)
